Charming ryokan with a beautiful garden view. the public bath hours were limited, restricting morning showers.

I had such high hopes, but alas! The public bath was unreasonably small and only open for a few hours each evening, which is very inconsiderate. I also expected complimentary tea but found nothing in my room. it could've been better, but I just couldn’t give a good review with these issues looming over me.

Absolutely loved the kaiseki breakfast. it was a feast for the senses! The family room offered a cozy vibe with an amazing view of the garden. The yukatas made us feel like we were part of a real-life Japanese storybook. Highly recommend Ramen Sen no Kaze for some killer noodles just a stroll away!
Sure, the bathroom was shared, and the futons were a tad firm, but that’s part of the authentic ryokan experience, right? The minimal soundproofing kept things lively. felt like we were part of a local get-together. All part of the charm!

We explored all Kyoto has to offer, using this lovely inn as our base. My kids, especially, enjoyed trying on traditional clothes during our stay. The tasty breakfast and friendly service added to our memorable experience, making it well worth the visit.
My kids wished for more activities nearby.
